a stone of archaeological significance, a secular stone of local significance. Dimensions: length of 4.50 m, width of 3.20 m, height of 1.0–1.3 m, circumference of 13.20 m, volume of about 8 m3. Ruddy granite. The stone surface is eroded and cracked. The stone lies in its original place. The cup-marked stone was discovered by explorer Jānis Cepītis in spring, 2006.

Narrative

In ancient times 11 spheric hollows were made in the stone within some cultic activities. 10 of them are on the top surface and one on the side. Regarding the purpose of creating cup-marked stones scholars have suggested more than 30 different versions the most likely of which are connected with cult rituals which have taken place at such stones.

Rather easily accessible. There are no information signs. The stone lies in an overgrown meadow.Walk about 100 m E from the partly abandoned Lukne manor; it is on the side of the field, slightly grown into the bushes.

Kuriozi un nejaušības bedrīšakmeņu meklējumos. // Daba un vēsture 2008. – R., 2007, p. 207 (Curious stories and accidents in quest for cup-marked stones.// Nature and History 2008). Until the spring of 2012 there was a half-broken secular linden (circumference in 2008: 4.30 m) between the manor and cup-marked stone. The stone has to be taken under the state protection as a cup-marked stone, an ancient cult site.
